James Hake
Ceramicist

James specialises in large thrown bowls and hand built slab wall hangings. Each is characterised by the use of oriental style glazes, fired in a gas kiln, ranging from subtle Shino to rich dark Tenmoku and vibrant copper reds. Constantly refining and developing ideas, as well as his large interior pieces, James has worked on architectural themes for interior environments.

James trained in both England and Ireland. His work features in the permanent collection of the National Craft Gallery of Ireland and the Department of Foreign Affairs collection. He currently works in the Northwest of England.
