'Whilst all around is turmoil, you somehow see and understand everything with a heightened clarity, and then, a moment later, it is gone'.
In my recent work I try to capture those elusive moments we can all relate to, when the world, just for an instance, seems to stand still, frozen in that stillness.
I want the results of my work to be paintings that are quietly absorbing rather than confrontational. And for the viewer to come to the painting with their own thoughts and feelings and to experience the painting without any preconceptions, without any pressure, without any sense that this is what they ought to be thinking or ought to be feeling when they see the picture.
