Sandra Blow

1925 - 2006

Sandra Blow recently celebrated her 80th birthday with an exhibition at the Tate Britain and the publication of a book chronicling her life and work.

She spent many years in London, teaching at The Royal college of Art, and became a Royal Academician in 1971. Her work has been shown in the Royal Academy summer show every year since then.

Blow was given a solo exhibition at the R.A. in 1974 and at the Tate, St. Ives in 2001.

She moved back to Cornwall in the mid 1990s where she lived and painted until
her death in 2006. She remained utterly committed to her work and will be remembered as one of Britain’s leading abstract artists.
