The process of carbarundum printmaking is similar to applying paint to a board or canvas and suited Tony O'Malley's work very well. He loved the inventive practice that the print medium brought with it, his earlier print work being silkscreen or linocuts.
The Irish Musuem of Modern Art, Dublin, held a retrospective of Tony O'Malley's work in 2005. There is currently an exhibition of his work at Tate St Ives.
