Sara Flynn
Ceramicist
Sara graduated from the Crawford College
of Art, Cork in 1988. Since then she has shown
extensively in national exhibitions in Ireland.
Her present work concentrates on two primary
concerns, manipulating, cutting and reassembling
freshly thrown forms to highlight movement
and volume and the challenge of making pure,
simple bowls with perfect balance between rim,
body and foot.
All work is porcelain, fired in a gas kiln to
1280oC creating a variety of colours and finishes
from complex blacks and vibrant reds to cool
and subtle greens and whites.
Sara is represented in public collections
